Olivia is FIVE.

Our sweet big girl turned 5 last wednesday! I can't believe 5 years has flown by so fast. So much has changed in our lives since she was born!

Olivia is very into drawing rainbows lately. If anyone is sick, she hits the table with paper and her markers and makes them a get well card with rainbows. :) So, it was a no brainer when I asked her what kind of birthday party she wanted this year and she responded "RAINBOW!"

The first thing I did was hop on photoshop and design her invitation which turned out fabulous:

Then I hit up Pinterest (wooh!) for some inspiration! We had originally planned to have her party on the 17th at Jumpin Jungle and then once we found out that 2 granny's, one papa, and 2 friends couldn't make that date, Olivia was in tears. So, this mama changed the party to the 11th (which gave me 1 week to get ready!). Eeek! I checked the weather and they said it was supposed to be 67 and sunny! Perfect weather for having an outside party at Grandma's house. So I got all my decorations ready for decorating outside....But then Tuesday rolls around and the weather is suddenly changed to 54, breezy (understatement!) and rainy. So, yet again, plans changed and we moved the party to the gym at church.

Her party was for 4:00 so I headed to the church at 3. Major dumb moment. I did not give myself nearly enough time to set up. Maybe it woulda been a little easier if the wind wasn't blowing 600 mph making it almost impossible to carry everything into the church. Including the moment that it blew my mother in law's punch bowl out of my hands and shattered glass all over our parking lot. This is the moment that I cried. A little.  (Thanks Brian for cleaning up the parking lot!) My (super duper totally fabulous!) friend, Elyse, came to my rescue and picked up (plastic!) punch bowls for me and came to help me set up. I forgot the balloons and 1/2 of the decorations in my garage! Awesome! By this time, I didn't have time to go get them and set them up so in my garage is where they stayed. Brian's car wouldn't start so 10 minutes before the party started I had to run back home and pick them up. Norah was just waking up from naptime and eating lunch. Helloooo! We don't have time for lunch! Take it to the church! haha. I grabbed the bowl of lunch and headed to the suburban. I then set the bowl on the back of the suburban and strapped Norah into her seat. About 2 seconds before pulling into the church I realize........ THE BOWL IS STILL ON THE BACK OF THE SUBURBAN! Factor in 3 turns and the wind, I knew that dood was gone! We get out at church and what do you know!? It's still there! haha!

Annnnnnnnnnnnyways. It all felt like a big giant disaster but once Olivia got there it was all worth it. She loved the decorations and had a blast! She never even knew anything was missing. :)

Since the party was at 4 we just had a few treats (veggies, white chocolate pretzels, punch, fruit kabobs and rainbow cupcakes.)

(Thanks to my hubs for making the fruit kabobs!)

These cupcakes took awhile, but were easy to make and Olivia was pretty excited about them!

For favors I gave the kids rainbow bags with chocolate gold coins.

Liv opening presents. :) (This bag was made for her by aunt Heather! :) So cute!)

For games I had a rainbow relay where the kids split up into teams and had to run and color a section of their rainbow. The first team to color their rainbow, won. :) And then I had a table set up with paint and paper for everyone to paint a rainbow for Olivia to have. :) It was alot of fun and the kids painted some super cute rainbows!

Miss Eva is getting quite "big" and has been standing on her own a little bit. :)

A horrible family picture. We should take a picture at the beginning of the party next time. In fact, before I even decorate! haha. Although, the birthday girl does look quite adorable. <3

A big thank you to everyone who helped, and everyone who came! Olivia had a blast!

Olivia: You are turning into such an amazing little girl. I can't wait to see where God takes you in life and all of the amazing things you're going to do! You're the best big sister and we all love you so much!
